A joint project is brought to you by collaboration between the Bolshoi Theatre and Swiss bank Credit Suisse: a number of videos will be streamlined on the Bolshoi YouTube channel. Leading soloists of The Bolshoi Theatre Opera Company and The Young Artists Opera Program will try to deduce a formula for success without missing any of the important elements.

All the Bolshoi Theatre Box Offices are reopened. 

The Bolshoi Theatre and ABBYY finalized results of a crowdsourcing international project “Open Bolshoi History”. ABBYY’s intellectual technologies and over 7,800 project participants from 60 countries helped to extract, digitize and organize data based on 48,000 posters, 120,000 brochures and 100,000 photos of theatre museum collection, which has been accumulated during 200 years. Valuable data of over 28,000 operas, 18,000 ballets and 5,000 concerts, including Feodor Chaliapin, Leonid Sobinov, Maya Plisetskya and other brightest stars who ever performed on the Bolshoi’s stage, are now placed in one electronic database. After due diligence, digitized historical documents are published in a special search section online archive.bolshoi.ru. Evgenia Obraztsova is going to perform the part of Phrygia for the first time. Egor Geraschenko makes his role debut as Crassus.

Marianne Beate Kielland (11, 12, 14 and 15 March) and Daria Telyatnikova (13 March) will perform Dido part at the Bolshoi Theatre for the first time.

Over the recent years, we make sure to present opera in concert version (this season – two!). First of all, it increases the number of opera premieres. Secondly, the unbreakable rule is: music director of the Bolshoi maestro Tugan Sokhiev always chooses wonderful piece, which is rarely performed. This refers to opera Mazeppa by P. Tchaikovsky. Concert version will premiere on Historic Stage on 7 March.

Tuuli Takala will appear on our stage for the first time as La Contessa di Folleville. Pietro Adaíni as Il Conte di Libenskof and Carlo Lepore as Don Profondo will perform at our theatre for the first time as well. Their performances will take place on 4^th and 6^th March.

Margarita Shrayner makes her first appearance as Ballerina, Igor Pugachev – as Pyotr.

Anastasia Stashkevich makes her first appearance as Perdita.
